1 Love, 2 Paths by Laurie

There is a question a lot of us wonder even if we don't want to admit it: is the same to give birth to a child and love him/her than to adopt a child and love him/her? Can we create the same kind of bound and relationship? Can we compare?

Laurie, true to herself, frank and generous, has shared with us her feelings in this very touching and honest post. She gave birth to a beautiful little girl a few months ago after adopting 2 amazing boys from Vietnam. And even with 3 kiddos under 2 she still manages to make us think: 1 Love, 2 Paths.

Hi, I loved Laurie's site. It really it thought provoking. In my own case we have 2 of each. Two bio and 2 adopted. We just love them. I guess in our family it just doesn't matter. Although we do talk about it and keep it out in the open. They are just our kids now. Not our "adopted" children, just ours.

I do not know first hand yet, but I do believe that my love for Sophia will be the same. My heart just aches for her every day.

Coming from the other side... I love my mum like she was the one who gave birth to me... I never thought it otherwise... so, I am sure (having been the adoptee myself) that my love for Shauna would be like she was from me...

Lovely post! I have one of each... and I love them equally and differently! They are soo different as any sibling would be... they are my girls.. I forget 99% of the time that My little Maya is adopted and that she doesn't look like. I forget.. she is my daughter, I see her that way!
Love is strong and BIG!
